I grew up in Islington and went to school in Highbury, so, perhaps, it was inevitable that I would become an Arsenal supporter. So, yes, it was my ‘local’ team, and having supported them since the late 1950s (i.e. through the lean times of the 60s), I am clearly no armchair glory hunter.

Arsenal’s last home game of the 2008/2009 season. Another chance for the Ladies to show off their haul of four pieces of silverware. The shot of the pitch with the sprinklers on is from my own seat. These pictures were taken with what I call my ‘toy’ camera - hence no close-ups on the pitch.

In March 2011, I finally caught up with Alan Connell playing for Grimsby Town FC away at Kettering FC, having missed him in all the time he spent at Bournemouth FC.

For my birthday in 2011, Mark bought me two tickets for a tour of the Arsenal Stadium, which also included a visit to the Arsenal museum.
